Tired Blood is a found footage film dissecting scenes from a 1950s televised beauty pageant, 1950s meat carving tutorials, and educational surgical videos ranging from the late 20s to mid 90s.

These scenes are collaged together over beauty pageant contestant Debra's performance of "Blue Skies". During her introduction, the tv host describes things about Debra that make her more desirable: her dress, her hair, her name.

The act of looking is continuously referenced throughout the film with flashes of a human eye undergoing lasik surgery, a woman presenting roasted meat on a carving table, a beauty contestant performing for an audience, and the invasive nature of watching a surgery.
